Question:
What type of dog food do you suggest?
Answer:
We have tried a variety of dog foods over the years and are currently feeding Purina Pro Plan Performance to our dogs. We are also experimenting with Inova Dog food as an alternative. There is must controversy over what ingredients are best for a dog. We feel that a lot of dog food company's cater to what sounds good to a human while a dog could care less what a food sounds like.

Question:
What do you think about canned dog food?
Answer:
Canned food has very little nutritional value. In addition, it seems to create plaque on the dog's teeth faster. We feed dry food. The only time we consider canned food is when one of our females has whelped a litter. For a week after whelping, we mix a canned beef/gravy food in with dry food to assist in getting her back on an eating schedule. Other than that, we do not recommend canned food.

Question:
How much do I feed my dog?
Answer:
This is going to depend on what type of food you feed and your dog. We suggest you read the package and follow the instructions. Keep an eye on your dog's weight and adjust the feeding accordingly. We feed 1/2 to our smaller girls up to 1 cup to our larger boys, twice a day. Just remember that a seriously overweight dog is at risk of health problems. Of course you don't want a starving dog either. If in doubt, have your vet check your dogs weight on your next visit.

Question:
Can I feed table scraps to my dog?
Answer:
Absolutely not. Your dog should be fed a well-balanced dog food. Table scraps will more than likely upset your dog's intestinal tract. Grease can even kill necessary enzymes in the intestinal tract needed for proper absorption of nutrients.

Question:
What type of treats do you give your dogs?
Answer:
We give our dog's Milk Bone medium size dog biscuits approximately twice a day. Sometimes we will give them liver treats if we are training them. Just remember that most dog biscuits don't have a lot of nutritional value.

Question:
My dog seems to like chocolate candy, will this hurt him?
Answer:
Chocolate in quantity can be very toxic to your dog. It is not recommended that you give your dog any kind of human candy. If you really feel the need for you dog to have candy, they do manufacture a dog treat that is in the form of a chocolate replacement. We really don't see the need for this, as any treat (dog biscuit) would be just as satisfying to your dog.

Answer:
Yes but our supplement is a combination of Vitamins and Herbs. We have tried many vitamins such as Pet Tabs and Pet Tabs Plus and found no real change in our dogs.

Question:
What can of supplements would you recommend?
Answer:
We have opted to use a supplement that is high in human grade natural vitamins, minerals, herbs and antioxidants. Antioxidants are proven to combat the ravages of free radicals. The formula we use increases the dogs natural immune system and significantly reduces the risk or eliminates many health problems. Our supplement has proven itself to us and to many that we have referred to use it. Don't wait until your dog is sick before considering this supplement.
